Sore throat?? HELP. asdfghjkl;?

So screw this. I have had a sore throat for 6 days now. it's not a regular all over sore throat, random part of my throat just swelll up and it hurts like a ***** to swallow. first i had a regular sore throat, then a fever the next day. the fever went away i was left with the sore throat and clogged ears. i went to the doctor and she gave me congestion pills (why idk) and some ear drops for wax build up in my ears. I've taken all the congestion pills in the past few days, and a dose of excedrin for the past 2 days, every 6 hours. the sore throat only goes away while the medicines working. after the 6 hours is up, it hurts like hell again. wont go away. they did a throat culture and i guess its not strep. but what the hell do i have? i got my tonsils removed 3 years ago so don't even bother telling me its tonsilitis
