Is it weird for a guy friend to meet my mom?

I have this Guy friend and I was like hey you should meet my mom and he looked at me weridly siad y dose ur mom like dirt biking and I was like no?? Then he siad then y should I meet ur mom then I siad ur stupid so is it werid to say to one of my newest Guy friends come meet my mom and I didn't mean it in like a relationship thing just as friends cause my mom dont know him so I was like it won't hurt..
